HUI LANAKILA CANOE CLUB

Established 1977 • Honolulu, HI

One Mind, One Paddle, One ʻOhana

Based in Honolulu, Oʻahu, the Hui Lanakila Canoe Club (HLCC) was established in 1977 by Henry Ayau, Bob Riley, Billy Mitchell, and Doug Frias with a mission of perpetuating the culture and tradition of Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddling. For 40 years, we continue to bring together a strong community of members who embody this tradition. Our coaches within each program encourage our members to develop a hard work ethic, leadership skills, team camaraderie, and a focus on building healthy spirits, minds, and bodies. As a club, we strive to uphold strong Hawaiian cultural values. An ʻohana, is a family, working together - both in and out of the waʻa (canoe). We are Hui Lanakila!
