HUI LANAKILA CANOE CLUB

Est 1977 • Honolulu, HI

One Mind, One Paddle, One ʻOhana

Based in Honolulu, Oʻahu, Hui Lanakila Canoe Club (HLCC) was established in 1977 by "The Four Hawaiians" Henry Ayau, Bob Riley, Billy Mitchell and Doug Frias with a mission of perpetuating the culture and tradition of Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddling. Today, we are proud to say that for the past 40 years, we continue to bring together a strong community of members who embody this tradition. Within each program, our coaches encourage our members to develop a hard work ethic, leadership skills, team camaraderie, and a focus on building healthy spirits, minds and bodies. Together, our club strives to uphold strong Hawaiian cultural values as an ʻohana, a family - both in and out of the waʻa (canoe). We are Hui Lanakila!
