HUI LANAKILA CANOE CLUB

Est 1977 • Honolulu, HI

One Mind, One Paddle, One ʻOhana

Based in Honolulu, Oʻahu, Hui Lanakila Canoe Club (HLCC) was established in 1977 by Henry Ayau, Bob Riley, Billy Mitchell and Doug Frias with a mission of perpetuating the culture and tradition of Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddling. For 40 years, we continue to bring together a strong community of members who embody this tradition. Our coaches within each program encourage our members to develop a hard work ethic, leadership skills, team camaraderie, and a focus on building healthy spirits, minds and bodies. As a club, we strive to uphold strong Hawaiian cultural values. An ʻohana, a family, working together - both in and out of the waʻa (canoe). We are Hui Lanakila!
